Bruce Weber for Vogue, November 2006.
With her sphinx-like features and slight frame, Kate Moss has been hailed by Vogue as “relentlessly captivating,”[1]“maddeningly, elusively glamorous,”[2] and “iconic.”[3]Whether swimming in silk or sexing it up at the disco, one thing is true: She commands the page.Moss was only fourteen and traveling through JFK airport after a family vacation in the Bahamas when she was spotted by a modeling agency owner. Before long, she was being photographed at a British seaside resort by Corinne Day for the cover of The Face. At that time, Amazonian supermodels reigned supreme in fashion and, measuring five feet seven inches tall, Moss stood out from the crowd at castings. (Industry legend has it that her agents expected her to grow taller, but she never did.)
